Nevada

Accelerating literacy learning when it matters most. Early screening and evidence-based instruction drive measurable growth in K-3 classrooms.

Overview

Nevada's Read by Grade 3 initiative emphasizes early literacy, evidence-based instruction, targeted intervention, and family engagement to help more students read proficiently by third grade. As districts work to improve reading outcomes and strengthen early literacy instruction, they need solutions that improve student outcomes while complementing existing district initiatives. Springboard Collaborative helps districts improve student outcomes through evidence-based intervention, family engagement, and educator support that complement Nevada's priorities.

Aligned to State Priorities

  • Kindergarten Entry Assessment and literacy screening in the early grades to identify students who need additional support

We support districts through literacy screening, progress monitoring, and family-friendly reporting that helps families understand and support student growth.

  • Intensive intervention, including daily literacy instruction, small-group support, and extended learning opportunities

We provide tutoring through in-school, after-school, summer, and hybrid models that complement district literacy instruction and intervention efforts.

  • Nevada's Read by Grade 3 Act includes retention requirements for students who do not demonstrate reading proficiency

We help districts accelerate student outcomes before grade 3 while providing actionable student progress data that support intervention planning.

  • Literacy specialists in elementary schools and Science of Reading training for K-3 educators

We complement these efforts through embedded coaching, professional learning, and literacy support aligned to evidence-based reading practices.
