Learning happens in community, whether that is in classrooms, at the kitchen table, or side by side with a parent, caregiver, or sibling. Springboard Collaborative is the only nonprofit organization that centers family-educator partnerships to drive student learning. Since 2012, we have coached teachers and family members to help children accelerate learning gains. My daughter was very shy about reading with me in the past. At times, I would get frustrated because I wasn’t sure how to help her. In the program, I learned a lot of useful tips I didn’t know before. Some of the tips were so simple, which made it easier for me to try them at home. The workshops taught me how to use strategies, and I was able to ask the teacher directly when I wasn’t sure about something.
